Re-Desire Me EP release – Fantom Tremors

Re-Desire Me EP – Fantom Tremors (cdrift.009)

Romance. Confusion. Estrangement. Separation. Fear, and love. Weekly sessions. Daily visits. Sunshine and wind; open and locked doors – all with keys. Sometimes rivers appear to flow upstream.  Sometimes beautiful things emerge from tortured cocoons.

Re-Desire Me will be available in digital format on Bandcamp and most other online stores on March 21, 2017.

Scenes In The Sky EP release – Conoley Ospovat

Scenes In The Sky EP (cdrift.008)

These songs were written in Tokyo in 2011/2012.  Never knowing when another aftershock might move us again.  Managing fear, practicing compassion, and staying positive in a volatile environment.  Dreams often provided refuge.  In one there was beautiful, soothing music.  The music was being articulated by evolving, abstract scenes in an enchantingly blue sky.

Scenes In The Sky will be available in digital format in most online stores on January 17, 2017.

Bao Dong! single release (Conoley Ospovat)

HCMC street 3We’re very happy to announce the sixth release on Continental Drift Records.

Bao Dong! features percussion by inspirational Mauritian musician Stephano Honoré aka Menwar, an hypnotic mix of the title track by good friend and harmonizer Pier Bucci, and a mesmerizing re-interpretation of ‘Bao Dong!’ by label mate and vibration rider c_olvrin. An alternative Ospovat mix of ‘Vietnamese Thrill Ride’ rounds out the journey.  Inspired by a trip to Vietnam, the sense of emergency/insurgency we may experience around us, and the power of love.

Bao Dong! will be available in digital format in all major online stores December 23.

Menwar

In April I had the great pleasure of spending 10 days with Menwar, an inspirational musician and humanist from Mauritius. He was staying with us in Berlin, finishing a new album my former flatmate Pier Bucci recorded and produced here and in Mauritius. It is a wonderful and powerful album.

We ate together (Menwar is an excellent cook), laughed together, jammed together, and shared countless beautiful moments.  Menwar offered to play percussion on a couple of my songs – they will be released as the Báo Động! single later this year.

Here are a few links related to Menwar and his music:

Vinyl release scheduled for late October 2014

“…music has a lot to do with communication … working with other
people is really essential.”
– David Moufang (Move D), German producer, performer, and DJ

Some believe music developed as a way to bring early humans together into a close-knit
community, and this collection of songs is a perfect example of that theory at work. Pure,
uplifting vocals from Lindsey Flowers, an Oklahoman Ospovat met Tokyo. Killer sax blown in
Portland, Oregon by Noah Bernstein, an exceptionally talented friend of Ospovat’s brother. A
driving remix by Pablo Bolivar in Barcelona. A mesmerizing remix by Canadian label partner
Craig Oldring (c_olvrin). And the words of German DJ/producer/performer David Moufang, who
speaks with conviction in ‘Movin’ to the D’ – “…music has a lot to do with communication …
working with other people is really essential.”

We coudn’t agree more.
